Product Description

We will cut your slimline oak floating shelf from wide American White Oak stock. Planed square on all sides and painted by hand in your choice of colour from the Farrow and Ball range, using a process that preserves the oak grain pattern in the finish. All of our painted oak slimline floating shelves are handmade to order. Use them to display your favourite ornaments and keep your must have books close to hand. Even fill an alcove with them for masses of practical yet beautiful storage.

We make our slimline floating wall shelves in a range of depths and cut them to your specified width. Our thin oak shelves are suitable for solid walls, plasterboard walls and dot & dab walls. We produce this shelf in 20mm thick solid oak. For each of our types of slimline oak floating shelf we can provide widths from 20cm to 150cm. Please note that with thin, solid oak shelves you can sometimes see an amount of bowing down the length of some shelves, this is more evident in longer lengths and we will use stock that reduces this where possible. The tolerance that we allow for this is +/- 5mm per/m.

To order, simply select your fixing type and shelf depth. Then enter your measurements into the width box to calculate the shelf price. Add to your basket and we’ll do the rest. We cut your oak floating shelves to the exact size you specify. We pre-drill the mounting holes as appropriate and carefully finish the shelves by hand. Our team then send your order out to you with all the necessary fixings for simple home installation.

You can find a more detailed description of our square edge American White Oak on our finish buying guide. For delivery information please see our delivery page.

7 reviews for Slimline Solid Oak Floating Shelf – Hand Painted in Farrow & Ball

  1. Telma M

Bought 3 shelves for my living room. We installed them ourselves and they are fairly easy to install but I would recommend extra focus as we drilled wrong holes on the wall for one of the shelves. Apart from that little mistake they look lovely and you can get them in any colour from farrow and ball. I’m very happy.

  2. Nitramylim

Love the shelf, beautifully made bespoke to our measurements and paint colour and arrived well packaged and with all fittings. Would highly recommend.

  3. Raquel

These custom-made shelves were perfect for our kitchen wall. The depth was exactly what we needed to hold the glass jars of our open pantry. Definitely recommend. Shipping to the US was a bit expensive.

  4. Luisa Cacciotti

Great customer service and colour matching. Beautiful shelf and easy to put up.

  5. Sophie Branch

Lovely shelves really nice finish to them. Quite expensive for what they are but they will look lovely on my wall!

  6. Rachel

Great shelf made with quality materials and is very sturdy – is sitting happily above my TV. 5 stars!

  7. Richard Jordan

Really lovely product, the only downside was the wait time, however in these uncertain times (and the Christmas rush in-between) it’s only to be expected. I will certainly by buying a few more before I am done.
